An accident on I-70 near Wentzville Parkway resulted in a fuel spill of nearly 150 gallons. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources dispatched two environmental emergency responders to oversee the cleanup of the diesel fuel spilled during the accident early Thursday morning.

The department's Environmental Emergency Response section was contacted early this morning by the Missouri Department of Transportation concerning a truck accident. Local fire officials and MoDOT used absorbent pads to begin cleanup at the scene.

The trucking company, Knight Transportation, Phoenix, Ariz., has hired an environmental cleanup firm to continue the cleanup. The department dispatched state on-scene coordinators from its emergency response station in Eureka to the site of the accident to oversee the cleanup.
