The Columbia Tribune is reporting Wentzville School District Superintendent, Dr. Terry Adams, has applied for the position of Columbia, Missouri School District Superintendent. The Columbia School Board has not publicly announced names of applicants.
The board interviewed five finalists last week. Dr. Adams was reported as one of those five who applied. But this week, the board brought in a sixth candidate because, said a school board member, the other five did not fit the criteria.
According to the Columbia Tribune, the five candidates were told of a sixth applicant, but they were not told they weren’t still being considered. The sixth candidate has been said to be a male with Columbia ties.
When asked about his possible future with the Columbia School District, Adams said that he was “not in a position” to discuss the topic. He said that he knew it had been reported that he applied for the position. Adams said that information did not come from him.
Adams said that he recently received a contract offer from the Wentzville School Board. He said that Wentzville is a “great school system.” They are “on the move and doing a lot of things right.” He also said that he is proud of his involvement with the district.
