Wentzville, MO
The College Board has announced that eleven Wentzville School District graduates have earned AP Scholar Awards based on their outstanding performance on the Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.
Austin Gerlt, Emily Hagen, Jacob England, Lydia Michel, Edward Nickel, Timothy Preall, Tyler Roe and Kaystin Weisenberger, all 2010 Holt High School graduates, and Micaela Oliver, Jefferson West and Adamm Hockman, 2010 Timberland High School graduates, all earned the prestigious award. The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school.
Students have the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement in college, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. About 18 percent of the nearly 1.8 million students worldwide who took AP Exams in the spring of this year performed at sufficiently high level in order to earn the AP Scholar Award.
AP Exams are graded on a scale of 1 through 5. Hagen, England, Michel, Nickel, Preall, Roe, Weisenberger and Oliver each earned the Scholar Award for scoring 3.0 or higher on three or more AP exams. Jefferson West earned the Scholar with Honor Award for having an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scoring 3.0 or higher on four or more exams. Austin Gerlt from Holt and Adamm Hockman from Timberland both earned the AP Scholar with Distinction Award for having an average score of 3.5 or higher on all tests taken and scoring 3.0 or higher on five or more exams.
The Wentzville School District takes great pride in the accomplishments of all District students!
