Taylor Wohrley, a senior at Timberland High School in the Wentzville School District, has committed to swim in college as an Indiana Hoosier.

With her father Jim and her mother Janelle at her side, Taylor signed her NCAA National Letter of Intent this week at Timberland High School.

“It was the team, the atmosphere, and the coaching staff,” said Taylor, “It’s close to home, and it just all came together. It’s an all-around winner.”

17-year-old Taylor is the 2008 Missouri State Champion in both the girls’ 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke. She set a Missouri state record of 1:50.32 in the 200 yard freestyle in February of this year.

At the Olympic trials in July, she competed in the 100m backstroke against the best swimmers in the country, including world record holder, Natalie Coughlin, for the right to represent Team U.S.A. at the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.

Taylor is also a member of the U.S.A. National Junior Team, an Honor Roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.
