Hundreds of students and staff members attended a memorial Thursday after school for Timberland sophomore Adam Wisdom. Adam passed away on Saturday, April 11, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
“It’s been a tough week, but it’s also been a reminder that Timberland is family,” said Principal Dr. David Waters. “Faculty, staff, and students have pulled together to help each other and honor Adam’s memory.”
Adam loved sports and was diagnosed in October of 2007 during his freshman football season. Many in attendance at the memorial wore his number 32 and “Believe in Wisdom,” which had become the rallying cry for fundraising events during Adam’s treatment.
“He was a loyal friend who never said too much, but when he did it was the right thing at the right time,” said classmate Tony Schultehenrich.
After a video about Adam’s life, students released hundreds of balloons and rang the Timberland victory bell in memory of Adam.
