Timberland newspaper and yearbook wins awards

On Monday, March 9, the Timberland High School newspaper and yearbook staffs attended the “Sponsors of Student Publications of Greater St. Louis” Spring Conference at Webster University.
The 2008-2009 Wolf’s Howl newspaper received a Superior award and the Wolf Tracks yearbook also received a Superior.
Senior Elaina O’Connell received an Excellent award in the senior news writing contest. Senior Jessica Duncan was awarded the $1,000 Bruce Schneider Leadership Scholarship. This scholarship is given annually in honor of Bruce Schneider, a long-time St. Louis area adviser and past SSP president.
Over 500 area high school journalists attended the conference, where they participated in workshops given by local journalists and professionals.
