Teenage driver seriously injured in accident

On July 19, at about 5:45 p.m., a 17-year-old male from Troy, MO was driving southbound on McHugh Road at Highway 61 in a 2002 Mitsubishi.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles by St. Charles County Ambulance.
The teen was charged with DWI at 6:05 p.m. that evening.
