Tattoo artists host adoption benefit

A total of $2,700 was raised at an adoption benefit for local couple, Nick and Marcy Bizelli, on Wednesday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Ultimate Art Form in Wentzville. The community pulled together to help further the dream of adoption for the Bizelli’s.
Bo, owner of Ultimate Art Form; Rat, owner of Rat Daddy’s Tattoo Company; and Jimbo, also from Rat Daddy’s were kept busy as 40 people received tattoos during the benefit. Many more participants enjoyed the barbecue, bought raffle tickets or just made a cash donation.
“Since my adoption worked very well, I thought I’d come help somebody else out.” Rat said.
Ultimate Art Form and Rat Daddy’s Tattoo Company donated the proceeds from tattoos given during the benefit; Big Bear’s Bar-B-Que in Wentzville donated the proceeds from the meals they served; and Paul Lowell of Paul Lowell Photography in Warrenton also donated his time. A total of 84 photos were made available of the event and Ultimate Art Form will soon post some of Lowell’s work in their studio.
Raffle proceeds also went to the cause. Some raffle items included: leather goods such as wallets and belts donated by Black Jack Leather in O’Fallon; t-shirts donated from Rat Daddy’s Tattoo Company; and (2) $100 gift certificates donated by Ultimate Art Form. Juicy Tan in Wentzville also donated for the raffle.
“Nick and Marcy were ecstatic and emotional about how much we brought in,” said Terry, shop manager at Ultimate Art Form.
A Gift of Hope Adoptions, the organization helping the Bizelli’s through the adoption process, was on hand providing adoption information and literature while Westplex 100.7 conducted a remote broadcast from the location.
Terry said, “We just want to thank everybody that came out and made donations, bought raffle tickets, barbecue or got a tattoo.”
