Summer construction projects continue

The busy summer construction season continues in the Wentzville School District. These construction projects are the result of the successful passage of the November 2008 Wentzville Schools’ Bond Issue, and are being planned and bid to commence this spring and/or summer. Additional Bond Issue construction will continue into 2010 as bonds are sold and bids accepted for other projects. Here is a brief update for each project:

Sommers Road Elementary School – The bid was awarded at the February board meeting to Lamb Construction Company. The project began in March with substantial completion expected by June 2010.

Mexico Road Elementary School – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Demien Construction. The project began in early June with substantial completion expected by July 2010.

Timberland High School Addition – The bid was awarded at the February board meeting to Wright Construction Services. The project began in March with substantial completion expected by May 2010. Wright Construction has adopted a very aggressive schedule and anticipates completing the project by January.

Campus Drive Replacement – The bid was awarded at the May special board meeting to Demien Construction. The project began the last week of May with substantial completion expected by August 7.

South Campus Drive Replacement – The bid was awarded to Freise Construction at the May special board meeting. The project includes the main drive to the 3-way stop sign and the drive behind Boone Trail. Alternates for the west drive overlay and additional parking for South Middle School were also approved. The project began in early June with completion by August 7.

Crossroads Elementary Auto Loop and Additional Parking – The bid was awarded to Demien Construction at the May special board meeting. The project began June 2 with completion by August 7.

Frontier Middle School Playing Fields – The bid was awarded to Freise Construction at the May special board meeting. Grading work will be completed in the summer (July/August) and sod work to be completed in the fall.

Holt HS Chiller Replacement – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Demien Construction. If chillers can be manufactured in a timely fashion, work will be done this summer. If not, work will be done between November 1 and April 1.

Heritage Chiller Replacement – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Demien Construction. If chillers can be manufactured in a timely fashion, work will be done this summer. If not, work will be done between November 1 and April 1.

Boone Trail HVAC Replacements – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Demien Construction with work to be completed this summer.

Quail Ridge HVAC Replacements – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Air Masters with work to be completed this summer.

South MS Gym/Cafeteria Lighting – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Demien Construction with work to be completed this summer.

Holt HS Track Resurfacing – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Byrne & Jones Construction with work to be completed this summer.

Elementary School Playground Improvements – The bid was awarded at the April board meeting to Hutchinson Recreation & Design with work to be completed this summer.

WMS Locker Replacements – The bid was awarded at the March board meeting to Warehouse Design with work to be completed this summer.

WMS Bleacher Replacements – The bid was awarded at the March board meeting to Mid-States School Equipment with work to be completed this summer.

Heritage East Cafeteria/Gym Acoustical Panels – The project was completed over spring break, with painting to follow this summer.

Harris Building Roof/HVAC Replacements – The bid was awarded at the March board meeting to Weatherproofing Technologies with work to begin June 24 and be completed later this summer.
