Sam’s Club may arrive in Wentzville

A 136,000 square foot Sam’s Club may arrive in Wentzville next year. THF Realty has been eyeing the northeast corner of May Road and Bear Creek Drive (behind Walmart) as a choice location for the $23 million project.
The development would also include a stand-alone 2,000 to 3,000 square foot building for a chain restaurant. Bear Creek Drive and May Road would be expected to experience more customer traffic; however, delivery trucks would instead use a service road behind Walmart.
The developers say tax increment financing (TIF) would not be used, but they are asking Wentzville to approve the creation of a community improvement district to levy an additional half-cent sales tax.
THF Realty will host meetings to hear concerns from residents. Before the Wentzville Board of Aldermen will even consider the project, it must go through the planning and zoning process.
