New logo for Wentzville School District

Wentzville, MO
The Wentzville School District announced today a new logo that will represent the District, and soon be appearing on everything from official letterhead to shirts and caps.
Matt Deichmann, Director of School/Community Relations for the District, wanted to replace the old logo from the 1970’s that had fallen out of use.
“I think that it’s important for the District to be proactive in its branding and create an updated image that is immediately identified and recognized as representing the entire school district,” Deichmann said. “We also wanted our talented students to help with the redesign, so with the assistance of the Wentzville Schools Foundation, we were able to organize a contest to help create the new logo, and over 200 of our students submitted a wide variety of great ideas!”
The submissions were judged by Administrators in the District, and the winning submission was from Timberland High School senior Holly Cook, and the runner-up was Holt High School senior Ben Bigelow. Jenny Abernathy in the Media Resource Center helped with graphics adjustments to the logo that eventually created the final product.
The bold block navy blue “W” is accentuated by the curved arrows of the gold “S” and the navy “D,” and the arrows are a nod to the past, representing the Holt Indians, while the intersecting lines represent the transportation crossroads that help define Wentzville as it moves into the future.
