Rachel Klopstein, a junior at Wentzville Holt High School, has been selected as KMOX/Southeast Missouri State University Student of Achievement.

The annual award recognizes a select group of students throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in academics, athletics, the arts, community service and leadership.

As a result of her accomplishments, Rachel will receive a Student of Achievement scholarship with full tuition to attend Southeast Missouri State University in the fall of 2010.

“I’ve made a few visits to SEMO, and it’s my top choice,” said Rachel. “I look forward to the tradition of climbing Cardiac Hill and putting my gum on the tree at the top!”

In addition to maintaining a 4.0 average, she is also a member of the Dean’s List, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, French Club and Cappies.

Rachel has been a starting varsity soccer player since her freshman year, and as a SPENCA Bush Soccer Park volunteer, she has helped run soccer camps for disabled children.

As a member of St. Patrick’s youth group, she adopted a child in Africa through World Vision. Since then her service project (and the people taking part) has grown to the point where an entire village is receiving school aid, clothes and medical care.

Congratulations to Rachel for being selected as a Student of Achievement!
