Going on a smoothie run

One day last week, a friend and I stopped at the new Juicy Tan tanning salon and smoothie bar in Wentzville. Not to tan--we were on an old-fashioned summer evening goodie run. I was thinking along the lines of “strawberry.”
Oh my…we were not prepared for the 20 or more choices on Juicy Tan’s menu board. There were berry blends, chocolate and peanut butter combinations and tropical flavors--and those don’t even scratch the surface.
Many of the selections included protein, handy for the Rhino Fitness crowd nearby, or anyone else into health for that matter.
I ended up with the very first offering on the board, a berry combination. My smoothie buddy chose a tropical blend which included pineapple, banana, orange juice and orange sherbet. Our smalls were about $3.55 each, and we both agreed they were quite ample servings.
Since smoothies are loaded with good-for-you ingredients, we felt nourished as well as refreshed. We also felt a bit smug about making such a healthy decision that night.
I recommend stopping in to welcome Juicy Tan to Wentzville. Treat yourself to a smoothie while you’re there. Yum.
