Corvette overturns in afternoon accident

On Sunday, Feb. 15, Wayne E. Stumpf, 68, of Wentzville, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette northbound on Route Z in Wentzville, south of Country Pointe Court at about 12:35 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle began to slide, crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road. The front of the vehicle struck a ditch embankment and overturned.
Stumpf suffered moderate injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital West by St. Charles County Ambulance. His passenger, a five-year-old female from Hawk Point, also suffered moderate injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital West by St. Charles County Ambulance.
The Corvette was totaled.
