Afternoon accident on northbound Highway 61 slows traffic

At about 2:30 p.m. Monday, a red Mustang convertible rolled over on northbound Highway 61, just past the entrance from the westbound Interstate 70 ramp.
Scanner reports indicate a 16-year-old was taken from the accident in an ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West. Arch Rescue Helicopter transported the patient to an area hospital.
Wentzville Fire and Police, Lake Saint Louis Fire as well as ambulances responded to the accident scene.
Traffic exiting Interstate 70 to northbound Highway 61 was backed up to Highway A.
