Man Arrested for Statutory Sodomy
Sexual assault occurred 12 years ago at home daycare.

St. Peters, 04/23/08: On 04/21/08 the St. Peters Police Department arrested a man for sexually assaulting a 7 year old girl, approximately 10 to 12 years ago.
The now 19-year-old victim came forward relating that she had been sexually assaulted. The alleged incident occurred while she was being cared for at the suspect’s home in the 10 block of Kimberly Lane.
He is identified as:
Eric E. Letford
White male, 42 years of age
St. Peters resident.
Letford confessed to sexually assaulting the victim and was arrested. The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s office charged Letford with Statutory Sodomy 1st and is being held on a $40,000 cash only bond.
Letford lived at home with his mother and father in the 10 block of Kimberly Lane his entire life. His mother ran an in home daycare over this same timeframe.
At this time, we do not have any other victims. We are asking parents that have used this daycare, to talk to their children and if needed, please contact the police at 636-278-2222.
