Suspect caught in First Bank robbery

On Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 11:44 a.m. the St. Peters Police Department responded to a Bank Robbery at First Bank, located inside of Dierbergs, 221 Salt Lick Road.  Shortly thereafter, officers located the suspect in his vehicle in the area of Salt Lick and Mexico Road.

The suspect was apprehended without incident and the currency from the robbery was recovered.  In addition to the St. Peters robbery, the investigation led to the suspect implicating himself in one bank robbery in O’Fallon, Missouri and two bank robberies in St. Charles, Missouri.  The suspect is identified as:

WHITEHEAD, GENE M.
W/M DOB 1/12/62
7000 Block Post Coach Road
O’Fallon, MO 63368

The St. Charles County Prosecutor’s Office issued formal charges for four counts of Robbery with a cash only bond of $100,000.  Whitehead is currently incarcerated at the St. Charles County Detention Center.
