Happy 100th birthday, St. Peters! Your party awaits you at the Centennial Celebration on Saturday, June 26, 2010. The grounds around the St. Peters Rec-Plex South parking lot will be full of FREE games, prizes, music and other fun activities.

Enjoy a “Family Fun Day” of activities from 2:30 to 5 p.m. At 7 p.m. Younger Than Yesterday—featuring former members of The Byrds—will take the stage at St. Peters’ amphitheater next to the Rec-Plex South parking lot. Concessions will be available throughout the event.

“This is going to be a free, fun day, for kids and adults,” Mayor Len Pagano said. “We’ll never have another centennial, so we hope this day will be a wonderful chance to make new memories with family and friends celebrating the spirit of St. Peters.”

All the activities will take place behind St. Peters City Hall at the Rec-Plex South parking lot, amphitheater and surrounding grounds. Drive south of the Rec-Plex building and over the creek bridge to reach the Rec-Plex South lot. Parking is free.

A special Centennial Celebration concert begins at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater. Younger Than Yesterday will entertain with the sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s. The group is made up of Terry Jones Rogers, Michael Curtis, Scott Nienhaus and Tim Politte, artists who’ve played with and written songs for groups such as The Byrds and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

“Anybody who loves good, classic rock music should be sure to come early and get your seat for this rare St. Peters concert,” Mayor Pagano said. “We’re excited to have these great music professionals put on an entertaining show.”
