The ice is ready for you at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, and classes are coming up soon for both ice skating and hockey programs, including a new class for hockey goalies. The Rec-Plex is taking registration from the public now for these classes and all fall classes, which also include swimming classes, adult volleyball leagues, adult softball leagues, fitness classes for all ages and abilities, and more.
Ice skating and hockey classes are available for anyone ranging from toddlers to teens to adults who are learning to skate or trying to sharpen their skills. The next semester of classes begins the week starting Sunday, Aug. 21. New this fall, the Rec-Plex offers a Goalie Workshop for beginner and intermediate goalies.
Plenty of fitness classes are available at the Rec-Plex for all ages. Some Family Fitness Classes for kids give parents a chance to also join for an extra nominal fee. The Baby Boomer Bootcamp Challenge and 50+ Fitness classes are perfect for the Baby Boomer generation. And, Aqua Aerobics classes are a great way for anyone to get a low-impact workout, with options ranging from the new Latin-inspired Aqua Zumba full-body workout to an old favorite, the warm-water Twinges in the Hinges class for people with mobility issues. For something totally different, try Belly Dancing to burn calories and have fun, or learn the ancient art of Classical Fencing.
Rec-Plex classes are open to all area residents, and in most cases are reduced in price for Rec-Plex pass-holders. Rec-Plex GOLD PLUS members can also choose from many free classes, including calorie-burning RPX Cycling Spinning® classes and full-body Kettlebell workouts.
Most classes are available for registration online at www.stpetersmo.net/rec-connect. Registration is also available at the Rec-Plex, 5200 Mexico Road, or by calling 636.939.2FUN (2386).
