Pennies for Patriots raises $1,643.12

During the past six months, 3,496 pounds of aluminum cans were donated by St. Peters residents, scout groups, church groups and many others for the Pennies for Patriots campaign. Each donated can reaped approximately two cents, raising $1,643.12.
The James S. McDonnell USO is the recipient of Pennies for Patriots. This organization provides a variety of services and hospitality to military personnel and their families as they travel through Lambert International Airport. The USO receives no government funding but is able to do this work through private and corporate donations.
“We’ve been holding the Pennies for Patriots aluminum can drive since 2002. Over the years, we’ve donated $7,341.67 to the USO,” said Mayor Pagano.
