Man arrested for disturbance at church
March 31, 2011
St. Peters, MO
The St. Peters Police Department arrested a man after he entered First Baptist Church on Mid Rivers Mall Drive and assaulted three people. The man was identified as:
Ostmann, Dustin
W/M 26 y/o
4000 block of Towers Road
St. Charles, Mo 63304
Employed by ABB
Ostmann admitted to buying and smoking “Supercense,” which is synthetic marijuana, when he started having hallucinations. He told officers he picked First Baptist Church, located at 3533 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, because his hallucinations were starting to scare him and he wanted to go anywhere to get help. Through the investigation, it does not appear Ostmann had any prior connections to this church and it was picked at random.
When Ostmann entered the church, he started running through the hallways, screaming. He pushed down a 14 year old victim, who did not receive any injuries. A 71 year old employee of the church was assaulted after trying to block Ostmann from entering another room. Ostmann threw a table at the victim and as a result, he sustained an injury to his shoulder area and was transported to Progress West Hospital.
Ostmann assaulted a third subject, a 61 year old church employee, who was able to restrain him until police were notified and arrived on scene. Ostmann was arrested without any further incident.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants for Assault 2nd and two counts of Assault 3rd. He has a $20,000 bond, no 10% authorized. He is currently being held at St. Charles County Jail.
