Looking for a way to get your kids’ active at a young age? “Music for Me” returns to the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre on Sept. 6 with Under the Sea – the first of three kid-friendly themed classes being offered this fall.

Kids dive Under the Sea in song and explore a world of mermaids, baby whales and ocean waves. Imagine you’re soaking up the sun while you chill on an imaginary beach, building sand castles and collecting sea shells as you sing and play along to beach songs. Parents join in on the fun while kids play with rhythm instruments, use props and learn expressive movement to accompany the music.

Under the Sea is a four-session class held on Tuesday mornings from 10:15-11 a.m. The cost to register is $45 which includes materials and a decorated canvas bag.

It’s never too early to get your kids’ started on an active path and “Music For Me” classes are a great way to get kids’ ages 1.5 to 5 up and moving.  The City of St. Peters is offering activities for kids of all ages to get active as part of the national Let’s Move! initiative launched by First Lady Michelle Obama, to fight childhood obesity and raise a healthier generation of kids. The City of St. Peters Mayor, Len Pagano and the Board of Alderman have joined this initiative because they care about the health of the community and want to provide opportunities for them to be healthy.

If you’re interested in registering for this class or for more information on future classes, contact Laurie Strickland at 636.928.2004.
