The 21st Annual St. Charles County Golden Games will take place May 5 – 10, 2008 at various locations. The games are open to all seniors.
This county-wide event is considered an “open event,” which means out-of-state residents are also eligible to participate.
There is a game to everyone’s liking. A partial list of events include: bridge, bocce ball, pinochle, 5K competitive walk, golf, shuffleboard, bowling, horseshoes, archery, tennis, volleyball, basketball, shot put, swimming, washer toss and nail pounding.
All participants will receive a t-shirt. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in each age division of each event.
Athletes must be at least 50 years old as of Apr. 30, 2008 to be eligible to compete in most activities. Exceptions are for basketball and volleyball--participants for these games must be at least 50 years old as of Dec. 31, 2008.
A non-refundable registration fee of $25 is required of each participant. To participate in golf, however, an additional $20 is necessary. This facility fee includes the golf cart.
To play in the games, participants must complete the registration form in its entirety and submit it along with required fees. All entries must be postmarked or delivered no later than Mar. 31, 2008. See the Golden Games website for the registration form and more information.
