On Wednesday, March 31 at about 5:20 p.m., an accident occurred on Interstate 70 which resulted in a St. Charles woman being taken to the hospital.

Tina M. Cope, 35, of St. Charles, was driving a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan on westbound Interstate 70, just east of Highway 370.

A 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Cassondra L. Drake, 26, of O’Fallon, was also travelling the same direction on Interstate 70 as Cope.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cope failed to notice the Blazer was traveling at a slow rate of speed; and the Caravan struck the rear of the Blazer.

Cope suffered minor injuries and was taken by St. Charles County Ambulance to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
