Accident on I-70 seriously injures one

At about 3:33 a.m. on June 14, 2009, Samuel H. Kakpata, 25, of St. Louis, was heading westbound on I-70 near Truman Boulevard in a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kakpata traveled off the right side of the road, struck a MoDOT reflector sign, returned to the roadway, struck the median and the vehicle began to overturn. The vehicle can to rest on its right side in an eastbound lane.
Kakpata suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance.
He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The vehicle was totaled.
