A drive on Highway 94 in rural St. Charles County reveals the devastation of last night’s storms. Downed trees lined the roadway as utility personnel dotted the scenic view and worked to recover.

Wineries near Augusta, MO were especially hit. The roof was blown off an historic brick home on the grounds of Louis P. Balducci Vineyards and Winery. Debris and insulation could be seen scattered in the nearby vineyard area.

The roof of a building at Noboleis Vineyards and Winery was peeled away from the structure.  A white foam insulation coated the building and nearby trees. Fallen trees and a wind-blown street sign could be seen in front of the winery.

Sunday night’s storms of tornadoes and high winds began in the St. Charles County area at approximately 10:30 p.m. and kept residents on alert until after midnight.
