St. Charles County departments assist in fire

A stubborn fire brought at least six fire departments to Old Monroe Monday. The incident was reported before noon and lasted more than six hours.
The blaze, located in a scrap yard in the 200 block of Main Street, required assistance of local fire departments such as Lake Saint Louis, Wentzville, O’Fallon, Central County, Warrenton and Eolia. Foam trucks were on the scene.
The fire is still under investigation.
