Route P accident injures one

On June 4 at about 10:00 p.m., Sean R. Wilmes, 21, of Moscow Mills, was heading westbound on Route P, west of Flint Hill Drive in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Wilmes attempted to pass, in a no passing zone, a 2007 Dodge Charger, driven by Marley J. Schwendemann, 18, of Wentzville.
An accident occurred when the Silverado Wilmes was driving struck the left side of an eastbound 1999 Chrysler Sebring which was being driven by Karen A. Ballieu, 43, of O’Fallon.
Ballieu suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital West by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Ballieu and Schwendemann were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Wilmes was not.
Wilmes was charged with DWI at 10:38 p.m.
