New Year’s accident claims life of Defiance man

On Jan. 1, 2009, at about 6:40 a.m., Bryan J. Frump, 26, of Defiance, was westbound on Route D, three miles west of Highway 94, driving a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Frump failed to negotiate a curve to the right. The vehicle exited the roadway to the left and overturned several times before coming to rest in an upright position.
Frump was taken to Progress West Hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance. He was pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m. by Dr. Karre of the hospital staff.
Police reports indicate Frump had been wearing a seat belt.
