Driver loses consciousness, strikes trees

On Thursday, April 2, at about 5:10 p.m., Kenneth W. Linke, 67, of Winfield, was traveling northbound on Highway 79, one mile north of Highway M in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Linke lost consciousness, crossed the center line and exited the left side of the roadway, striking several trees.
Linke suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Linke was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
