Christmas morning accident sends one to hospital

On Dec. 25 at about 9:50 a.m., Daniel J. Taylor, 31, of Winfield, was heading southbound on Highway DD, north of Schwede Road in a 2001 Ford Escape.
As Taylor crested a hill, another vehicle, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, approached Taylor, who avoided the oncoming vehicle by traveling off the right side of the roadway before striking a ditch and a tree.
Nichole E. Taylor, 29, of Winfield, was an occupant in the Ford Escape and suffered minor injuries.
She was taken to St. Joseph Hospital West by St. Charles County Ambulance. She and Daniel Taylor were both wearing seat belts.
