Accident claims life of Portage des Sioux man

On Saturday, February 20 at about 2:45 a.m., Stanley R. Schmidt, 55, of Portage des Sioux, was travelling eastbound in a 1991 Ford F150 on Highway 94, just east of Route B.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Schmidt traveled off the right side of the road, struck a telephone pole, became airborne and overturned two times.
Schmidt was ejected during the accident and suffered fatal injuries.
