Accident claims life of Florissant woman

On Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at about 11:58 p.m., Amber M. Daniel, 23, of Florissant, MO, was driving a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant westbound on Route 94 just east of Route J.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Daniel failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. She lost control of the vehicle which traveled off the left side of the road. The passenger side of the vehicle struck an embankment and the vehicle continued sliding before overturning. Daniel was ejected.
Amber M. Daniel was pronounced at the scene by Paramedic Gregory Dahm.
An occupant in the vehicle, Donald E. Gulick, 19, also of Florissant, suffered minor injuries and was taken to DePaul Hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Gulick was wearing a seatbelt during the accident. Daniel was not.
