Residents of O’Fallon, Missouri , are invited to provide input at a Public Meeting regarding updated plans for the City’s proposed skatepark in Westhoff Park . The meeting, which is hosted by O’Fallon’s Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in the Multipurpose Room at the O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 North Main Street , O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.

This will be the third and final public input meeting scheduled for the skatepark since conceptual plans were first presented in January 2011 by the design firm, Hardcore Shotcrete Skateparks, Inc. A second hearing on the draft plan was held in February, with public comments on the proposed design accepted at each meeting. The upcoming meeting on August 16 will be the final opportunity for citizen input to the draft plan.

Currently, the proposal calls for an 8,000 square-foot concrete “flow park” combining both bowl and street skateboarding features to be built in Westhoff Park near a new entrance under construction off T.R. Hughes Boulevard . The skatepark’s construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2012.

For more information, call the O’Fallon Parks and Recreation office at 636-379-5606.

Directions - O’Fallon City Hall is located approximately one-half mile north of the intersection of I-70 (Exit 217) and Main Street . Drive north on Main Street and then make an immediate right into the parking lot after crossing the railroad tracks.
