Pedestrian accident driver’s identity released

Following is this week’s press release from the O’Fallon Police Department regarding the accident involving two pedestrians:
On June 5, 2009, at 11:51 p.m. the O’Fallon Police Department responded to an accident in the 300 block of North Main Street. Two pedestrians were crossing the street when a vehicle heading north on North Main Street struck the two pedestrians. Initial accounts indicated that the two pedestrians had exited a bus after attending a local event, and were crossing the street when the accident occurred.
The pedestrians were Sisters of the Most Precious Blood, 204 North Main Street, Sister Gladys Elaine Lamm and Sister Marie Francis Wiederholt. Both Sisters were transported to area hospitals. Sister Lamm died of her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was Diane Langen, a 52-year-old resident of O’Fallon. The vehicle she was driving was a 2002 Saturn.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the accident report will be presented to the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
