The O’Fallon Police Department recently participated in the national “Operation Safe Teen” mobilization conducted March 15-31. During the enforcement period, officers issued a total of 38 traffic tickets including 26 safety belt tickets, 7 speeding tickets and 5 other traffic violations. Three officers worked a total of 9 overtime hours during this enforcement period.

“Safety belts are your single best defense in a crash,” stated Chief William Seibert. “Law enforcement will encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to buckle up and Arrive Alive.”

Funding for this effort was provided through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Center.
