Open house for potential Explorers
September 19, 2009
O’Fallon, MO
Young men and women, ages 15 to 20, who are interested in “Exploring” a career in law enforcement are invited to attend an Open House informational meeting of the O’Fallon Police Explorer Post 2943 at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 in the Multi Purpose room at the O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 North Main Street in O’Fallon. A video and a presentation about some aspects of the program will be shown.
Explorers assist City staff and the Police Department during community events such as the O’Fallon Heritage & Freedom Fest, the Fall Festival & Craft Bazaar and the O’Fallon Jammin’ outdoor concerts.
Through their service, Explorers gain opportunities to interact and become involved in the daily operations of the police department. At meetings, Explorers learn various aspects of police work and participate in role-playing related to their training. Explorers also attend conferences and training academies where they compete against other posts for recognition.
All Explorer candidates are subject to background checks and approval by the O’Fallon Police Department and the O’Fallon Explorer Post.
For more information, contact Officer Joseph Fomera, O’Fallon Police Department Community Services Division at joefomera@ofallon.mo.us or 636-379-5685.
