O’Fallon man charged with arson after residential fire

At about 12:52 a.m. on March 24, 2009, the O’Fallon Police Department received a call in reference to a residential fire on Downing Street in Runny Meade Estates.
The suspect, 24-year-old Chad A. Koehler, from O’Fallon, allegedly damaged his girlfriend’s property and set his residence on fire. No one was inside the residence when the fire was set.
The lives of persons in adjacent residences were endangered. One of the residences was within about 18 feet of Koehler’s home.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a charge of Arson 1st Degree with a $45,000 bond on Koehler.
