At approximately 9:18 p.m., Officer Chris Taylor was dispatched to the ZX Gas Station in reference to an unresponsive adult male. Upon his arrival, he observed the store clerk, Lance G. Moore administering CPR.

Officer Taylor instructed Moore to continue his resuscitation efforts while he assembled the AMBU Resuscitator. Officer Taylor then relieved Moore and began CPR.

Sgt. Mike Toedebusch arrived and was told that the victim was not breathing and did not have a pulse. Sgt. Toedebusch began preparing the defibrillator, and with the assistance of Officer Julie Long, initiated one defibrillation shock. Immediately upon receiving the shock the victim began breathing on his own; however he remained unconscious.

Officers continued to monitor and provide assistance until paramedics arrived and took over the victim’s care. At the hospital, the victim was stabilized awaiting further tests.

Officers Julie Long, Chris Taylor and Sgt. Toedebusch were commended for their professionalism and dedication to duty.
