O’Fallon man suspect in rash of burglaries

On December 18, at approximately 6:33 a.m., the O’Fallon Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Highway K in reference to a business burglary. A glass door was broken to gain entry. The items stolen included $100 in cash, a camera and tools.

In addition to this, there were seven additional business burglaries and one residential burglary all involving forced entry, reported to the O’Fallon Police Department on the same date.

Through a joint investigation with the Chesterfield Police Department, a suspect was developed. The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Robert Johnson for Theft Less than $500, Burglary 2nd Degree and Property Damage 1st Degree, with a $50,000 bond.

Robert Johnson is a 24-year-old O’Fallon resident. He has prior convictions for Burglary and Stealing. He is a suspect in approximately 20 other burglaries the same evening in Chesterfield, Lake Saint Louis, and St. Charles County.
