O’Fallon man charged with murder of baby

On Jan. 15, 2009, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Timothy M. Danielson (26 years of age) of the 2000 block of Williamstown Drive in O’Fallon notified emergency personnel that his five month old son was not breathing.
The baby was transported to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis and later pronounced dead on Jan. 16. Physical injuries that appeared consistent with abuse were discovered on the child.
Investigation by detectives identified two witnesses that had previously observed Danielson appear to physically assault the infant. When interviewed, Danielson admitted to previous incidents of abuse involving his son. Danielson also allegedly stated that on the evening of Jan. 15, he attempted to hurt the baby by restricting his breathing, which ultimately caused him to stop breathing.
On Jan. 18, Danielson was charged with 2nd Degree Murder by the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
According to CaseNet: Danielson was arrested on 5/15/2007 by Lake Saint Louis Police for Violation of Order of Protection for an Adult. On 3/27/2008, he entered a guilty plea for the violation and he was put on probation starting 3/27/2008 and ending on 12/5/2008.
