O'Fallon Police conduct sobriety checkpoint

The O’Fallon Police Department recently participated in a DWI Checkpoint on Friday September 16th, 2011. The checkpoint was located in the southbound lanes of Bryan Road near White Magnolia Drive. The goals of the checkpoint were to educate drivers on the dangers of impaired driving and removing impaired drivers from our area roads.
This was a multi-jurisdictional effort that involved officers from O’Fallon PD and deputies from the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department. The checkpoint hours were from 10:30 pm until 3:30 am and during the detail 680 vehicles were checked. A total of eleven (11) suspects were arrested for DWI.
Funding for this effort was provided through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division.
