O'Fallon police charge two with arson

On 04/27/09, at approximately 12:15 AM the O’Fallon Police Department received a call in reference to a fire on the side of a house in the 1900 block of Williamstown Dr. Initial investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally set. Three improvised incendiary devices were found at the scene.
During the investigation of this case three alleged suspects were identified. One of the suspects was a Mark A. Lloyd, Jr., an eighteen year old St. Peters man. Lloyd allegedly assisted two other suspects in setting the fire. One suspect is a juvenile and the other adult was identified as Parris Canty, also eighteen years of age, of St. Louis County. The juvenile had been feuding with one of the victims for several months due to an earlier disagreement.
The fire was set at the corner of the structure where the victim’s room that was involved in the dispute was located. At the time the fire was set five subjects were inside the home. All subjects were able to get out of the home and the fire department responded to the scene and put the fire out. There was minor damaged sustained to the outside of the residence.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Mark Lloyd for Arson 1st with a 50,000.00 dollar bond. Lloyd is an 18 year old resident of St. Peters.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Parris Canty for Arson 1st with a 50,000.00 dollar bond.
