The O’Fallon Police Department recently conducted several DWI Saturation Patrols during the week of March 13 through March 19. The focus of these patrols was to remove impaired drivers from O’Fallon roadways. The patrols consisted of several officers working 4-5 hour overtime shifts during the peak times of DWI offenses.

During these patrols a total of 5 suspects were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. In addition, 2 suspects were arrested on outstanding warrants, 1 suspect was arrested for driving on a revoked license and 2 suspects were charged with drug violations. A total of 120 citations were issued during these patrols.

It should also be noted that part of the funding for these patrols was from a mini grant received from the Missouri Safety Center, specifically for St. Patrick’s Day enforcement.

Funding for this effort was provided through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Center. If there are any questions contact Sgt. Michael Plum with the O’Fallon Police Department at (636) 379-5636.
