Memorial Day Ceremony in O'Fallon

A Memorial Day Ceremony commemorating U.S. military personnel who died during their service will held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 30, at O’Fallon Veterans Memorial Walk, 800 Belleau Creek Road , O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. Mayor Bill Hennessy will deliver opening remarks.
O’Fallon’s Mayor, Bill Hennessy , will deliver welcoming remarks. Lt. Col. Alan Rohlfing, U.S. Army, is the keynote speaker for the event and the director of Missouri ’s Show-Me Heroes initiative to encourage businesses to hire veterans. Guest speaker Sam Horstmeier, a sophomore at Fort Zumwalt South High School , will read an essay on Memorial Day.
The ceremony was organized by the O’Fallon Veterans Commission, and includes the posting of the colors, the laying of the wreath, and patriotic music by the O’Fallon Community Concert Band.
O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 North Main Street , O’Fallon, MO., will be closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of the holiday.
Directions: On I-70 in O’Fallon, take Exit 219 at T.R. Hughes Boulevard and Belleau Creek Road . Turn south. O’Fallon Veterans Memorial Walk is just off the I-70 overpass at the southeast corner of Belleau Creek Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway . Parking is available.
