Founders’ Day Festival honors history
April 13, 2009
O’Fallon, MO
To celebrate O’Fallon’s heritage, on Sat., May 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the city will host its 2nd annual Founders’ Day event at Fort Zumwalt Park.
There will be horse-drawn surrey rides, birding walks and a general store for kids.
Displays from the St. Charles Model Railroad Club and exhibits of archaeological artifacts, steam engines, old-fashioned bicycles and hand-made quilts are sure to “wow” the crowd.
Entertainment includes music by the Lodge Brothers and Floyd and the Barbers as well as the “Great American Medicine Show” and the “Miss Polecat Annie Show.”
Tours of the Darius Heald Home and the O’Fallon Historical Society Log Cabin (in Civic Park) will be available.
Festival-goers are encouraged to park at Civic Park and ride the free shuttle to the Founders’ Day activities.
Admission and parking are free to this event.
