Fort Zumwalt school bus catches fire in O’Fallon

There was a school bus fire Wednesday at about 8:30 a.m. on Bristol Place in O’Fallon in the Fort Zumwalt School District.
According to Laura Musket of the Fort Zumwalt School District, the bus was carrying pre-kindergarten-aged children when the bus driver smelled smoke. The driver made arrangements to get the children on a different bus.
No one was hurt and the bus was heavily damaged by the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
