Family fun at all-inclusive playground groundbreaking

The City of O’Fallon and Unlimited Play, Inc., invite families to join in a fun-filled event featuring games, shows and more to celebrate the groundbreaking of the City’s new, all-inclusive playground. The celebration will be held at the site in Westhoff Park from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, and will include the groundbreaking ceremony at 12:30 p.m.
“This unique playground will be a community asset for kids and their families, so we’re marking this occasion with games, family shows, face painting, Child ID kits, a contest, the Great Bug Hunt, and prizes,” said Cindy Springer , Director of Parks and Recreation. “We’re still raising funds for the playground, so we’ll be raffling off a 50-inch television set, too. Concessions also will be available for purchase.”
Groundbreaking celebration schedule:
10 a.m. Booths and games open
10:15 a.m. Serengeti Steve, the Reptile Guy
11:30 a.m. Monkey Tales Theatre presents, The Parrot and Pirate Queen Show
12:10 p.m. The Great Bug Hunt
12:30 p.m. Salute to sponsors, TV raffle and groundbreaking
