Get ready for a relaxing day of fish-related fun on Sunday, June 12, in Fort Zumwalt Park , O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.

Family Fishing Day - Don’t forget the bait and tackle! Kids ages 5 – 12 and their families are invited to enjoy a morning of free catch-and-release fishing at Lake Whetsel from 8 a.m. – noon. Family Fishing Day activities include worm races, a casting contest, a reel race, and more, courtesy of O’Fallon’s Parks and Recreation Department. Vintage Fishing Lure Display – In the afternoon from 1 – 4 p.m., take a leisurely tour of the historic Heald Home overlooking Lake Whetsel , and see a collection of vintage fishing lures and other gear displayed throughout the house, which was built circa 1884 by O’Fallon patriarch Darius Heald. Directions: On I-70, take Exit 217 at Highways K / M (Main Street) in O’Fallon, drive south on Highway K for one block to the stoplight at Veterans Memorial Parkway; turn right (west); drive about one mile to the Fort Zumwalt Park entrance; turn left.
