Bring your unwanted and left over prescription drugs and other medications for safe disposal to the O’Fallon Police Department, located at 100 North Main Street, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 25.

On September 25, 2010, the DEA is coordinating a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. A national drug take-back day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction.

This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse. The program provides an opportunity for law enforcement, prevention, treatment, and the business community to collaborate and establish a safe collection site for all Americans, regardless of where they reside.

The O’Fallon Police Department will be participating with the program. For more information go to www.ofallon.mo.us/PD or call Lieutenant John Neske at 636-379-5631.
